How to Find Us;

Coming from Route 6A east of us- pass the Brewster General Store and the center of town and head out to West Brewster, passing the Museum of Natural History, the Drummer Boy Property and Windmill, until you see a sign for “Micheal’s Cottages” on the left.

Directly across from that sign you'll see “Blue Jacket Way” on the right- turn here and go thru the tall hedges, pass the old historic Dillingham House on the left, and drive up the long dirt road going off to the left until you come to our home (The Capt’ Wetherbee House”) and the printmaking studio.

Coming from the west of us- if you are coming from the Mid-Cape Highway, take exit 9 and go left onto 134- go all the way down to Route 6A and turn right. Head up Route 6A past the Brewster/Dennis line, keep going until you see “Eve’s Place” on the right.

Directly after this there is a curve in the road, and the sign for “Blue Jacket Way” will be on your left. Turn left here thru the hedges, pass the old Dillingham saltbox, continue on and bear left- go up the long dirt drive until you see our home on the right.

Dillingham House
The Dillingham House on Route 6A is possibly the oldest remaining house in Brewster, and one of the oldest houses on Cape Cod. You will need to peak at the Dillingham House from across the street, at the corner of A.P. Newcomb Road. The high hedge that now grows in front of the house was not always there. In fact photos from the late 1800's show this house could be seen from the herring run near the Mill. When this house was built, A. P. Newcomb was just a narrow dusty path connecting the house to the King's Highway where Stony Brook Road is today.
The house John Dillingham built is called a Saltbox. Although salt today comes in a cylinder, many years ago it was kept in a box shaped like this.
The high front of the house faces south, letting the sun pour through the windows. The low steep slope of the back keeps the cold north winds out and probably helps the snow slide off the roof.
