Lily pads" Monotype |
About the Artist:
Liz Perry received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alfred
Universitys College of Art and Design, where she studied with
photographer and printmaker John Wood and majored in printmaking.
She
works with linocut, lithography, zinc plate etching, collagraph, and
monotype prints, and sometimes combines different printmaking techniques to
create rich, complex images. Her monotypes are often run through the press
several times, using different plates and transparent inks to give motion,
depth, and texture to her work. She is a member and former president of the
Printmakers of Cape Cod. She is also a member of the Monotype Guild of New
England.
She has a selection of monotypes and collagraph prints at
Sarah Jessica Fine Arts, Commercial St., Provincetown.
Perry has
received awards for her work from The Chatham Creative Arts Center, The Cape
Museum of Fine Arts, Cummaquid Fine Arts, and the Ellison Center of the Arts in
Duxbury, where she received an award for one of two monoprints accepted in the
Monoprint Guild of New Englands's 6th Annual Juried Exhibition. She has also
exhibited her prints in St. Ives, England.
Her prints are in many private collections throughout the U.S
and England. |
